G Hewitt & Son are pleased to be supporting Peter on his Fund Raising bike ride.
All proceeds of the Coast 2 Coast Charity Cycle Ride will be donated to "The Pink Rose Fund" at Diana Princess of Wales Hospital one of the leading Breast Care Units in the country.
Following the loss of their mum to cancer in July 2010 brother's Anthony & Phill Booker wanted to "do something" in her memory. It was decided that they would cycle coast to coast (Whitehaven in Cumbria to Sunderland on the East Coast) over the Penines which is recognised as one of the most challenging routes.
Several friends also took up the challenge and over 3 days in July 2011 eleven riders successfully completed the ride. Anthony's 13 year old son Alex (Pam's grandson) completed 50 miles of the 167 mile ride and said he wanted to try and do it all next year with his grandfather Peter.
Peter who is the manager of the region's leading Jewellers G Hewitt & Son of Grimsby has been in training for several months and the three generations will be attempting the route again on 6th 7th & 8th July 2012 along with many friends (most of the riders from last year) along with some like Peter who will experience the ride for the first time.
In 2011 the total amount raised for the "The Pink Rose Fund" was £5,239.00 and it is hoped a similar amount can be raised again this year.
Anyone wishing to donate to "The Pink Rose Fund" C2C cycle ride can add to a sponsor form at Hewitt's, 10 Victoria Street Grimsby.
Thanks to everyone who supports the riders.
